THE MENDICANT AND THE MONK
There was a monk meditating in the dessert when a mendicant approached him:
-I need to eat.
The monk, who was in nearly perfect accordance with the spiritual world, didn’t answer.
-I need to eat- insisted the mendicant.
-Go to the city and ask for help anybody else. Don’t you see that you are bothering? I’m trying to communicate with the angels.
-God placed himself below the Man, washed His feet, gave his life for Him and nobody recognized him- answered the mendicant. The one that asserts loving God (who is not seen) and forgets his brother (who is in front of his eyes) is lying.
And the mendicant transformed himself into an angel.
-What a pity! You have been very near of reaching it- commented before leaving.
